Overview
Your public surfaces — published playgrounds, forms, visualizers, agents (embed widget & webhook), streams, and webhook-triggered workflows — can be used by anyone on the internet, not just you. To make sure third-party traffic can't quietly run up costs beyond what your plan covers, each public resource has daily usage limits set by your plan.
What's limited
- Playgrounds – public actions (button clicks, triggers, server calls) per day.
- Visualizers – public data-feed reads per day.
- Forms – public submissions per day.
- Agents – public interactions (embed chat + webhook runs) per day, and the AI tokens they spend.
- Streams – messages per day.
- Webhook workflows – runs per day.
Limits are per resource, per day (egress is per team, per month), and they're generous — aimed at runaway or abusive spikes, not normal use.
What happens at the limit
As a resource approaches its daily limit we email the owner. If it goes over, new public requests are temporarily turned away (the resource is paused) for the rest of the day; it resumes automatically at the daily reset. Your own use from the dashboard is never affected — only public, third-party traffic.
Where to see it
The Public usage limits card under Billing → Usage shows, for each surface, your volume this month, the daily limit, and any resource that's currently paused.
Public AI on the free tier (BYOK)
On the free plan, AI in public agents runs on your own provider API key (bring-your-own-key) rather than FlowFn's managed keys — so FlowFn never funds AI spend driven by anonymous visitors. Connect a provider key to your agent (or team) to enable public AI. Paid plans can use FlowFn's managed keys for public AI, bounded by your plan's daily token limit.
Raising your limits
Need higher limits? Upgrade your plan for larger caps, or contact us for custom limits. Cached, repeat views of a public playground or visualizer don't each count toward heavy recomputation — only genuine third-party requests do.
